Chiba is situated on the south east part of Tokyo and it has its own peninsula e prefecture.

I was advised by an Italian friend Marco, that he has been living in Japan for 20 years to go and try those little "Pandoro" cakes.I know it is not Christmas but it is my terminology on those up and down mountain slash hills.We also call them in Italy "mangia e bevi" meaning that on those one you can eat and drink.

After hardly sleeping due to the jet lag and various phone calls from Europe, I woke up early in this 1930 hotel. The hotel has its own history, apparently in the Kawaguchiko Hotel the Japanese Emperor stayed there before the second world war.

Also the breakfast had is own character, like a mixture of Japanese breakfast with grilled salmon, various fishes, edamane, pork and fruit with an extra sausage and eggs. Definitely filling for ride with an unknown route.

I knew where it was, Mt Fuji you could have not missed it. But in my mind there was also the aspect of discovering something new. Therefore, I have ventured out for nearly six hours on a discovery ride.

You might wonder why the title says Part 1.

The reason is that the SaddleDrunk team are traveling to Japan. In fact, I am writing this at 36000ft in the sky.

We will be visiting Asia at various times within the next 6 months. Let's say from now until the end of  the year.
